I watched a particularly long YouTube video the other day, and really want to share it because I sat there, riveted at my computer screen. My father, as most of you know, essentially died of metabolic syndrome, which is the confluence of diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension and heart disease. I have had a bit of a chip on my shoulder about it since, as I feel like he essentially ate himself to death through poor choices. Since then, I have done a lot of reading about optimal diets for humans and what is and is not healthy. I’m not a fan of the junk information you see in the nightly news, and a big fan of books written by doctors. It’s one of the reasons I follow the Eat to Live diet so closely (that, and I always lose weight on it when I don’t slip).
This video is of a presentation given by an endocrinologist at the UCSF obesity clinic. I have never seen something so clear and laid out before. It’s really stunning how we are essentially poisoning ourselves. Please find a spare 90 minutes to watch this. It really spelled out for me how my dad died. Maybe it will save someone’s life.dieting
