Last Friday I went to the eye doctor and did the test. Wouldn’t you know I was a perfect 20/20 in my left eye! That means that it took six weeks (or a bit less) for my eyesight to become perfect in that eye. I am so happy with my results so far and cannot wait to do my right in July. As I sit here writing this, in fact, my right contact is giving me problems. But in less than a month, I won’t have to worry about contacts. It is such a relief!

To be honest, since about a week post-surgery, I’ve really done without glasses altogether. I had rigged a pair of sunglasses to have one prescription lens and one not, but it got so tedious to sit around indoors in sunglasses that now I just walk around with one ‘good’ eye and one ‘bad’ one. I haven’t worn my regular glasses since the surgery, although I will have to figure something out in a few weeks, since I have to be contactless for a week before my surgery. Not sure what to do about that yet.  I’m a little too cheap to pay for a new, non-prescription lens in my glasses for a week. It’s too bad I don’t own a monocle. (Also, how cool would that be? I would have to dress in all tweed and feather boas to match it!)

I’m also really happy with the route I’ve taken so far. The saying goes that the first three weeks you’ll wish you went with LASIK, but after that, you’ll be so glad you went with PRK. So far, it’s proven right. Of course, with a new eye comes a new adventure, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m just enjoying my new sight.

I think you should get your eyes put in the palms of your hands like the Fawn in the movie Pan’s Labyrinth. But then when you masturbate, you might really really go blind, because you’ll be slamming your eye into your crotch.

That is really gross. But funny.
