I got my new iPhone the other day and I’m very happy with it. First, I was having problems with my old iPhone. The touchscreen didn’t work and it was slow as hell. This one is blazingly fast and actually pretty awesome. This new phone also has some really great features.
One of the really cool features is the Siri automated voice system. Siri is great although she doesn’t understand the word Uzbekistan (it comes out as “is Pakistan”). But what’s even better is that I can actually blog with dictation! In fact, I’m doing it right now. This may save some time when I’m ranting all over the place about a boy who done me wrong. For now it’s just interesting getting the hang of it.
It took me a couple of times before I got that punctuation has to be verbalized. But, now I’m doing it like a champ. I hope that the voice recognition is understanding my cadence more and more, but I have to say on the whole of it, that I’m talking a little stilted and crazy like right now.
Who’s Pakistan. Lose Pakistan. Nope, still can’t recognize it. I suppose it will be the pinnacle of my voice recognition software when it understands that the word Uzbekistan (I typed that manually) is actually spelled with a “U.” Siri doesn’t really get it either.
I anticipate lots of fun voice blogging, voice texting, and voice e-mailing to come.
