I’m having a party!

I spent the majority of last night doing some planning for my party today.  I have gotten together an iTunes playlist for the stereo, but of course my favorite part is always the food!

My birthday party will be a vegetarian barbecue with a buffet.  So:

  • Grilled portabella mushrooms, onions and asparagus
  • Veggie kabobs with peppers, onions, mushrooms and seitan with…
  • Miso-Tahini Marinade (just miso and tahini whisked with some water)
  • My Almost Perfect Chili (pictured)
  • Samosa Wrap Filling from Fat Free Vegan (with Boca Burger crumbles)
  • Veggie tray, chips, salsa and soda

I also bought rum and mojito mix for mojitos and Mike’s Hard Sampler.  My friends have beer already, so that’s settled.  I hope everyone enjoys the food, and doesn’t resent the meatlessness. I am bringing out my heartiest dishes with the full fat, so hopefully it won’t matter to the omnivores.  It was important to me to have a veggie menu, because I feel strongly that, at my own party, I should be able to eat everything.

I’m sure it will be fun.  I’m excited!
