||> Summary

We come back at the reopening of Sunnydale High. Buffy is a little bit nervous about sending her sister there, as she should be. Demons are raised by a talisman and try to kill Dawn and some other students. With the help of a returned, and crazy, Spike, Buffy is yet again able to save the day.

Okay, this episode starts off with a random girl getting killed. Just Speculation at this point, but was she a slayer in training? There are lots of questions that I have about this, so I won’t go into detail. Except to say I am surprised at how much Istanbul looks like Sunnydale.

And now Sunnydale High is back in action. Dawn is going there at just the age Buffy did and after slayer training to boot! Although I am thinking, with all this combat training Dawn is getting, will those creepy guys that killed the Turkish girl come after Dawn? Anyway, back to Sunnydale High. I liked how Xander was convincing Buffy that there are no scary basements and the like, but right after – oh, scary basement! And one that holds a crazy, souled Spike. He seems very tortured, but more like Renfield than Angel at this point, which is how it should be. And in the basement, I noticed how good Dawn is at making weapons. It was cool, and the cell-phone-secret-weapon thing was cute as well.

The ending of the episode was the best though. It was really a back to the beginning thing. The whole thing with the morphing reminded me of the First from “Amends.” Going back through all the villains was a very nice touch until Buffy at the end, which I thought, was poignant since Buffy’s biggest and oldest enemy has always been herself.
