Okay, so this week, I travelled over for a first look at my permanent place, where I am going to be for the next two years. Sigh. I kinda don't want to leave where I am now. My school's very nice and the kids are great. But I have concerns, most of which are being dealt with. The first is that my host family is okay. I really like the mom, but I have to move out because her son is demon spawn. I mean really. I like kids for the most part, and I've dealt with bratty three year olds before no problem. I generally have patience for kids. This kid is nuts. I would not be surprised to find out that in three years, he is caught killing puppies for fun. He hits his mom all the time and he hit me on several different occasions. The first day. Of course, I nipped that in the bud, but he is just nuts, so as much as I like the mom, I gotta move.

The second is my counterpart, who is also insane, albeit in a different way. I guess the best way to describe it is that whenever she is around, I feel like I'm 13 and going clothes shopping with my mom (Sorry mom, but you know that I got frustrated). I've only known the woman a week, and I've already had to yell at her. I like all the other teachers, but I'm already sick of getting steamrolled by this woman.

I think that they're going to have to physically remove me from the place I am now. I can just see them prying my fingers from the door frame and dragging me out to my permanent site. Luckily, I'm still close to Tashkent, so I can come back on weekends with my host family now (the good one). In fact, I only work 4 days a week, so I'm pretty happy about that overall. I'm going to need a rest after my counterpart. And I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just a little concerned that Peace Corps is going to drop kick me into the crazy house.
