Okay, so I have been working on the Peace Corps Uzbekistan volunteer website for well over three months now. I'm still uploading files and trying to get space. And the getting space part is so frustrating because to get space on a server you need 1. money and 2. a credit card. Free servers don't work because the banner ads clog up the internet in sites like Khiva, a city where it costs $3 an hour and a half an hour just to get in to Hotmail. So it needs to be fast loading, no images and something the volunteers can pay for. And I don't mean money, just with the credit card situation and the fact that we don't get paid in currency that's not even close to international.
So anyway, we finally got someone to agree to give us some space (50 mb) and they won't tell us how to upload the site! They won't get back to us. Plus the guy that got us the hook up just got "reassigned" in the Corps so now we're freakin' screwed! Argh!
Anyhow, if you know of anyone willing to have a temporary or permanent hostee for the good of the Peace Corps, can someone tell me? Or if you yourself have a hosting website and are willing to give up any space, any space at all, please email me! I am literally begging for anything at this point!
