I would like to dress my cat up in little dresses and take pictures of her looking pissed. Unfortunately, Tony has vetoed that.

Yes, that's my cat. This was taken on her first walk-about on a leash. Well, there was less walking and more of her squatting down and trying to get at the ants. But it's progress.

Oh, did you want to hear how putting in my two weeks went? Well, I've got a post coming on that. In the meantime, here is Lina doing her impression of Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2. Yes, she really is doing chin ups. Because she's a crazy athletic cat with too much energy. She can also do all sorts of other things, like run across the living room in three jumps. Of course, she also still falls on her ass quite a bit, so it evens it out when she does something like this.

Our kitten Lina is now the biggest brat. She is fascinated by anything having to do with the toilet, especially when we are on it, and even more especially when one of us needs to poo. When she hears one of us sitting down, or grabbing toilet paper, her habit is to get behind the toilet. From there, it provides her the best vantage point for her to swat at the toilet paper as we wipe. She also will try to stick her nose straight into the, uh, "money shot" if you get my drift. When we successfully get her out from her perch, finish and get up from the toilet, she will run back to the toilet and do what we have captured in film: stare into the bowl as we flush. She stays like that until all the flushing is done, then will jump onto the toilet, stare into the bowl, and occasionally try to taste the water afterwards.
It has gotten so obnoxious that Tony is now shutting her out of the bathroom, and I am cutting her off from her perch with my leg or squirting her with a water bottle. Of course, now she has learned to pop the door open, and jump over my legs. She gets upset with us if we close the lid, or try to block her from the flushing in any way and will act crazy for bout five minutes after the lid is shut. Such is her quest to get in on the poo.

Lina does not seem to want us to touch her or pet her. She wants to swat at us when she is awake and cuddle up to us when she sleeps. Other than that, she totally runs away from us.
Except... she absolutely must be in the same room as us, at all times. If we are in the bedroom and have shut the door, she whines until we let her in. It's the same with the basement. She has to play where the peeps are, except she also pretends to hate us.
Has she become a teenager yet?

For a while now, Snuggles has wanted to get himself a cat. His sister had a cat that he bonded with when he lived with her, and when he kept the cat for her. Of course, he wanted another cat just like that, while I wanted one that was more loving, like my cat Fatso was. A couple weeks ago, he brought one home from a vets office and she is just the cutest thing. At first, Snuggles wanted to call her Angelina, but we shortened it to Lina and it fits her. When we got her, she was so small that she fit in my hands cupped together. She is very social and curious about everything. Now, she's a bit bigger, but still a very cute kitten, and very affectionate. We're trying to raise her to be very gentle and playful, and so far so good.
